Icy conditions means that most football was cancelled this weekend, so instead, the Mobberley Junior Football Club Under 9s squad paid a visit to CPASE Health Club on Saturday. Not for a workout or a Cryotherapy session, but to meet-up with Clare Stobart owner of CPASE and to have a team photo session! CPASE is well known as the award winning Health Club located at Warford Park in Mobberley and they generously support Mobberley Junior Football Club as official shirt sponsors.
Mobberley Junior Football Club has 1 squad of players in each of the U8, U9, U10, U11 and U13 age groups, whereas some of our footballing neighbours attract hundreds of players every week. With that in mind, Mobberley does incredibly well to compete in the local competitive leagues. In fact, the U9s have played 13 matches so far this season and Won 10, Drawn 1 and Lost 2. An impressive record that speaks volumes for the club and the spirit that is shown by the players each and every week.
Mobberley coach David Clayton explained, “At this age, the emphasis still remains on fun and enjoyment, but the competitiveness starts to creep in and the kids learn valuable lessons around winning in the right way, as well as accepting when things don’t go your way. The importance of creating a team ethic cannot be understated!”
At CPASE the kids had a great time, smiled for the camera, had great fun on the slide that Gym members use to move between the upper and lower levels of the gym and to top it all, Aprils Kitchen (located in CPASE) provided delicious strawberry milkshakes for the team.
Owner of CPASE Clare Stobart said: “At CPASE we are naturally very keen on sports and fitness and we are really pleased to support the Mobberley FC Under 9s and to see how well they are performing, but importantly they are clearly having great fun as well!”
